About Rush Valley Racing
Since 2006, Rush Valley Racing has provided both kids and adults the opportunity to show off their skills on this 6 lane Pinewood Derby track! Whether using the standard pine blocks, Legos, or a “No Rules” platform, this friendly competitive activity is great for Corporate Events, Family Reunions, Youth or Church groups, and of course Cub Scouts.
A new high tech twist on an old school race.
Setup includes LED placement and times to 1/1000th of a second projected on a big screen. See the track in action below.
--Track now includes instant replay after every heat--
A little history...
My good friend Preston Socha was asked to build a Pinewood Derby track for his local Cub Scout group in Rush Valley (a neighborhood of “the Ranches”), part of Eagle Mountain Utah. With red and black colors, and a checkered finish line, the track came alive. After the big day, Preston was informed that the Cub Scout group would no longer need the track, so Preston bought a trailer, built a cart, and created Rush Valley Racing!
When I met Preston, he had been doing Pinewood Derby races for a few years already and I was even lucky enough to race a couple of my own cars on his track at some church events that we did. I was sad in 2012 when I found out that the track was being sold as I had so enjoyed the races that Preston put on for our groups.
Then in 2018 after the track had passed through a few more owners, I learned that the track was once again for sale. Somehow I knew this was for me and after putting together a plan, I was able to purchase the track in the fall of that same year.
This new hobby has been so much fun for me as I continually look for ways to improve it and make it even more fun for those looking to do a Pinewood Derby Race (cordless mics, instant replay and others). While I have to confess I have not been able to make a car that goes over 230 MPH, I have thoroughly enjoyed watching others attempt this feat over the past few years.
